After a lenghty period out of the global limelight, Evisu has stepped right back in with a striking retail move. We’re talking the denim brand’s sparkling new concept store in Hong Kong. Occupying a five-storey building in central, the concept store aims to offer its fanbase an immersive shopping experience that goes beyond, yes indeed, shopping.
A whole new aesthetic has been created for each floor that incorporates the brilliant artwork of London-based street artist Insa. The ground and first floors present Evisu’s new 2013 A/W men’s + women’s collections.
On the following floor shoppers will find the exclusive domain of bespoke denim, a first on the planet for the brand. It comes with a service that allows individual style tailoring with fabrics, fits, details, hand painting and other options.
It’s also the place where you can brush up on Evisu’s rich Japanese heritage, quality and craftsmanship. Coinciding with the store opening is the launch of the Denim x Art installation on the gallery floor. It features a show that brings together talents of Insa and Lady Gaga’s designer Alex Noble. In addition to the artworks there’ll be a preview of the Evisu x Insa collection, and which will be available by the end of the month.
The fifth floor is all about having a good time, if you’re a member that is. Dubbed Barsmith, this is an artisan Japanese cocktail bar where the happy few can sip specialized cocktails that have been personally created by one of Tokyo’s leading mixologists, and get the opportunity to hang out with like-minded denimheads.
