Aesop has been steadily opening up striking signature stores across the planet, but that doesn’t mean the folks back home get their fair share of well-designed Aesop retail spaces. The cosmetic brand’s latest opening down under is at Enex100 mall in downtown Perth, and is in fact its second in the city. The shop interior is a new collab with Kerstin Thompson Architects. The Melbourne-based practice has created a sleek décor of black japan timber, steel and concrete that aims to counterbalance creates the hustle and bustle outside.

The carpet and lighting further enhance the sense of quietude, while a splash of yellow provides a contrasting yet complementary vibrancy. Although the store is compact, cleverly latticed shelving visually opens up the space while simultaneously providing a distinctive and alluring screen of products that beckons shoppers from afar. The new Aesop store stocks the brand’s entire range of skin, body and hair care products.
