August, a specialty jewelry boutique recently opened in Los Angeles. August features a collection of modern and organic fine jewelry from designers Ted Muehling, Gabriella Kiss, Lola Brooks, Maria Beaulieu, Rosanne Pugliese, Nicole Landaw, Isabel Borland & Lisa Ziff. Storeowner, Bill Hermsen has combined his background in fashion, interiors and jewelry in this endeavor. Hermsen’s former work with highly-regarded designers Ted Muehling, Christina Kim of Dosa and interior designer Cliff Fong helped inform the aesthetics of the space.

Hermsen designed the interior and its fixtures to reflect the mood and essence of the month of August. His selection of custom-made white oak and bronze cabinetry and de Gournay wallpaper create an atmosphere of warmth and relaxed luxury. In addition to the collections of studio jewelers is an assortment of porcelain by Nymphenburg, the German porcelain manufacturing company dating back to the 1700’s and includes a collection designed by Ted Muehling. Among the display are bronze candlesticks, also designed by Muehling, and produced by ER Butler of New York. Silver and gold leaf mirrors designed by Maureen Fullam are also offered.
