The Isar Medical Centre combines three interlinked facilities with highly-qualified doctors and state-of-the-art technology: the Isar Hospital Munich City Centre, for patients covered by any type of health insurance, the Pettenkofer Hospital for private patients and those covering their own costs and the Specialist Centre with 20
specialist clinics.

This combination has given rise to an innovative specialist centre for outpatient and inpatient medical services at the heart of Munich. Expansion of the buildings on the site has raised the need for a signage system that satisfies the aspirations of an establishment that offers »a pleasant atmosphere between clinic and wellness«.

Cheerful colours and rounded forms – with regard to both typography and the signs themselves – are the underlying characteristics of the design concept. The overlapping of grid areas results in multi-layered graphics that pay visual tribute to medical expertise on the one hand and convey transparency and purity on the other.
