TSK Group has developed a new office design for engineering consulting firm Arup located in Manchester, England.

TSK were chosen by Arup to design their new world of work in Manchester. A new office landscape was created that balances collaboration and concentration to foster ideas and innovation, underpinned by Arup’s culture and values. This new workplace has received sensational feedback from the Arup network providing a strong foundation for their future. Any good piece of design tells a story – and this office tells a story about Arup, its history and its values – a story that builds and develops as you experience the space.

On arrival, a striking, bespoke, cantilevered reception desk dominates the welcome space, creating a self-assured first impression. Its design echoes the structural engineering roots of founder Ove Arup, and reinforces Arup’s reputation as a leading global design firm. On the wall, a timeline graphic tells the story the history and their work in Manchester, connecting them to the city. On an adjacent wall, a People Gallery displaying a cube for each member of staff sends a strong message about the firm’s values to their people and visitors. The design of the interior – with its fresh, vibrant yellow walls, and mid-century style furniture is classic yet modern. It’s not cluttered or complicated, and it creates a professional yet relaxed space for our people to work in.
