A revered name in circles as disparate as sneakerheads, tycoons and socialite dandies, the Louis Leeman brand easily unites them through designs that pair superb Italian craftsmanship with appealing styles for each discerning demographic. Dutchman Louis Leeman founded his namesake brand only four years ago with Erica Pelosini, a former fellow student at Polimoda Fashion School in Florence, and it wasn’t for long before the duo’s swish designs appeared on the shelves of the most prestigious stores across the planet. and now, Leeman and Pelosini have taken a giant leap forward by opening the very first Louis Leeman boutique, and where else but on the upper east side. Situated among peers from the global luxury industry, the store occupies a 927 sq.ft. [86 sqm.] ground floor corner unit on Madison avenue.
The paneled façade, framed by antique brass and featuring an ornate, art déco-inspired door grill, signals a luxurious classic interior that London-based David Collins Studio has concocted with great verve. As if a swish men’s parlour, the centrepiece of the store is a fireplace, paired with a cozy seating, mirrored panelled doors, and all tied in by antique parquet flooring. Steering clear from the predictable, and adding an eclectic twist to the setting is a minimal contemporary ceiling dipped in high gloss paint. For Louis Leeman’s most discerning customers the so-called cobbler’s room, a separate space lined in antique brass, is readily available.
