Amsterdam-based footwear label ETQ opens its first flagship store in the historic heart of the city, on the Singel canal. Besides its own range, the ETQ store will offer a high-end selection of forward-thinking unisex labels that have been carefully curated to complement ETQ’s style. Han Kjøbenhavn, Maison Kitsuné, Études, CMMN SWDN, Norse Projects, ClothSurgeon, I Love Ugly and Opening Ceremony, among others, will be available at the store as of September 2015. The label ClothSurgeon, is exclusive to not only the ETQ store, but to The Netherlands as well.
In the search of an ideal space for its first flagship store, ETQ’s eye was drawn to the approximately 3450 square feet two-story building opposite the iconic floating flower market in Amsterdam – also known as ETQ’s home base. studiojosvandijk, which previously developed retail concepts for brands such as Nike, Scotch & Soda and Precinct 5, is responsible for the project’s concept, design and execution. As you walk into the store, it’s clear that minimalism, timelessness and aesthetics are centre stage. Its style seamlessly integrates with the ETQ identity.
About ETQ
ETQ is built around a philosophy which is entirely dedicated to ‘essentialism’. Everything from the creation of the label to the design of each product is inspired by three principles: simplicity, timelessness and quality. For this reason all products are carefully handcrafted in Portugal. ETQ is currently available at renowned retailers around the world, such as SSENSE, Hypebeast, Soto Store and END Clothing. The new flagship store in Amsterdam will be the first store ETQ opens under its own name.
