Spacekraft Coworking office by Evoke International Design, Burnaby – Canada

August 17th, 2016 by retail design blog

Evoke International Design has developed the new coworking offices of Spacekraft located in Burnaby, Canada. Co-working space is a movement taking hold globally. Spacekraft is a startup by Darryl Bosa based in Burnaby, with almost 10,000 square feet of open office area catering primarily to design and technology based small business owners. David conducted early research with the client, collecting international information of the co-working space movement for implementation into the design for Spacekraft.

The shared space combines open plan workstations with communal amenities one would expect in a corporate head office. The design juxtaposes technology with craft, creating a feel of familiarity with high technical capabilities. The reception area doubles as a gathering hub for the space, and is reconfigurable to allow for events of over one hundred people.

A further agenda was to design a space that could also be flexible enough to allow for outside educational and social events. Spacekraft is currently under construction and will be completed later this summer.
