.TEBIAN is expanding the product range with two new high-quality pieces of furniture, the Newave Stool and Carte Trolley. Both products are designed keeping functionality in mind. What these furniture have in common is their multi-purpose function in different situations, they are suited for both everyday use and more festive occasions. Newave works as a stool as well as a night table.

The Carte Trolley on the other hand converts easily from a tea party server into a photographer’s help desk. Relentlessness and the designers own values are visibly present in the design of the furniture. “I wanted to create utensil articles that to a large extent look like the brand and live with the user in his or her dierent life situations”, says Tebian, the man behind the brand.

Newave Stool #newavestool“I have always admired the history of the Alvar Aalto’s 60 stool and its multipurpose function.The idea of my own equivalent of the stool has been on my mind for a while now. This is why I have come to the conclusion that now is the time to design and add it to my repertoire of furniture. The jointing and nish of the stool have been netuned to the very last detail and I am very proud of my Newave stool.

The prototypes of the stool have been serving me at home in my daily life, and they have been the center of attention at several parties. Lately I have been inspired by 12-cornered shapes, which is why this shape was a natural choice for the Newave stool”, says Tebian.

The outlines for the Carte Trolley have been in my notebook for about a year. I didn’t want to start the process of making the trolley until I felt that the time was right for it. The union of oak and marble will not let you down. My inspiration for this trolley derives to a great extent from the Red-Blue chair designed back in 1917 by Gerrit Rietveld which I very much admire.

The name of the product originates from the Cartesian joint which is used in both of these pieces of furniture. I believe that this trolley will bring a lot of happiness to its user thanks to its looks and multipurpose functions”, says Tebian.

TEBIAN is a modern and growing design brand from Helsinki, going its own way without prejudice. The work of Tebian is inspired by constructivism and is dened by sharp edges, functionalism, and rhythm. The brand’s “Greatest Hits” furniture collection was launched in the beginning of 2016 and it is now for exclusive sale at Vepsäläinen and also available directly from the designer.

The CROSS dining table from the Greatest Hits collection was recently chosen as the dining table of the year 2016 by Finnish interior design magazine Avotakka. The Greatest Hits collection is showcased at .TEBIAN showroom at the Vepsäläinen agship store.
