Combining traditional Chinese elements and contemporary materials to express the brand’s long tradition and its advanced technologies research, Area-17 defined a new customers experience in the showroom of Monopy, leader bathroom ware producer. Materials reinforce the idea: the wall finish simulating grey bricks and the metal mesh panels offer a modern interpretation of architectural elements typical of Chinese interiors. Polished brass details, transparent reflective finishes, and wooden floorings complete the narrative.

On the ground floor, suggestive environments show a range of aspects variously related to the productive process. In the first room, a thoughtful exhibition synthetizes the history of ceramics in China. The room opens onto the Hall of materials, a deeply emotional environment conceived as a temple celebrating the origin of production, which is to say the soil used in the clay mixture.

Each one of the thirty-three metallic-sheet columns is covered in a different soil, protected by a transparent panel that also enhances the play of light highlighting the texture. Beyond the Hall, there is a room with a holographic screen projecting a video explaining the productive process. Finally, on the first floor the bath furniture is staged in a sequence of rooms, which eventually lead to operational spaces such as meeting rooms and offices.
