Retro design meets urban hotel culture: The new Arthotel ANA Momentum in Göppingen combines the charming style of the 1950s and 1960s with all the benefits of a modern, unique hotel concept. 84 rooms with a 2-star Superior standard for young, price-conscious clients, a flexible open lobby with a bar and a lounge character: the signals of the design hotel in the home town of Märklin are an exciting combination of retro flair and contemporary features. The style-conscious design was created by the interior-design experts of DFROST.
Check in and feel at home
A combination of unique interior design with the familiar feeling of arriving at home. Skilfully designed hotels such as the Arthotel ANA Momentum captivate guests without overtaxing or obstructing them. After all, modern hotel guests expect functional, stylish accommodation that is more than a place to rest their heads – it is a place for them to enjoy, feel at home and spend a few precious days of their lives. The design specialists of DFROST kept this guiding principle in mind when creating the interior of the Arthotel ANA Momentum in Göppingen. This 2-star Superior house with 84 rooms caters to the needs of young guests who are both price- and style-conscious; it offers comfort and style for lower budgets. The newly opened design hotel combines the best of both worlds: a charming, inviting retro design with contemporary features. Much like the legendary living and design classics from the 1950s and 1960s, style and functionality are equal priorities.
The Arthotel ANA Momentum perfects these features using the technical and architectural achievements of the twenty-first century. This includes intelligently placed USB ports and state-of-the-art lighting systems such as integrated lamps. A multi-functional lobby creates a modern meeting point atmosphere. It is a lounge as much as it is a reception and a bar. Typographic light accents present the reception and information desk in their best light. Large glass fronts offer clear insights even from afar. An impressive, ceiling-mounted grid fixture visually frames the reception and bar. Its grid structure is reminiscent of railway tracks, representing the city of Göppingen and its most famous ambassador, the Märklin model railway company. Reflecting local characteristics is an important aspect of the company concept: Each Arthotel ANA pays homage to its regional surroundings, acknowledging both art and the art of design. ANA stands for: “Atmosphere Needs Art”. The underlying concept: high standards and a top-class design meet a cosy ambiance and comfort. The hotel chain has a congenial partner in the Stuttgart-based agency DFROST, retail identity and interior design experts.
Enter and unwind
Side by side – an open atmosphere with ample room for privacy, depending on the individual needs of each guest. This is the principle that guided the design of the open lobby. Its flexible room division concept allows for smaller seating areas as well as large family tables. The right space for anyone. An oversized, upholstered seating alcove next to the bar perfects the inviting lounge character of the lobby. The tasteful library in the entrance area is another favourite place to linger, luxuriate and indulge in some literature. Guests wishing to work in a quiet, undisturbed environment have access to a fully equipped conference room, also designed in a newly interpreted retro style. It takes up typical shapes of the mid-century modern design concept, reflected e.g. in the conference table, which has been created specifically for the hotel. Its retro-style patterned wallpaper was inspired by the octagonal form of the hotel logo.
An all-in-one concept
The 84 rooms are comfortable, highly functional and in line with modern, urban hotel culture. Warm colours and haptic materials such as structured wallpapers provide a special feel-good factor. The coherent concept designed by DFROST ensures that guests feel at home as soon as they arrive. From the check-in to the check-out, the elegant environment creates a welcoming ambiance that pays attention even to the minutest details. Guests never have to lack anything, including their twenty-first-century needs: conveniently located plugs allow them to charge their mobile devices in comfort. The furniture has been chosen with a focus on order, function and cosiness to match the retro style that the Arthotel ANA Momentum is re-interpreting in its own, exciting way.
