Following last year’s launch in arles and stopovers in New York City, Dubai and Seoul, the house of Dior cleverly brings its traveling showcase Dior – The Art of Color to the planet’s biggest luxury market. First presented during the annual photography festival in the south of France, it presents a well-documented connection between Dior’s prestigious makeup collection and colour through a series of photographs that feature the work of the brand’s renowned makeup design directors Serge Lutens, Tyen, and its current star Peter Philips.
The exhibition is held at the Moca Shanghai, and features a scenography by Paris-based agency La Mode en Images. The show includes Lutens’s expressive and personal makeup through multiple films, Tyen’s sexy colour concept with numerous photographs, and multiple makeup designs co-designed by Richard Burbridge and Peter Philips. The show aims to present the creative process of the three creative makeup directors of the brand, and is accompanied by an eponymous monograph published by Rizzoli [on through apr 8].
