Aesop‘s expansion of its retail network in Germany continues, and now also includes an outpost in Nuremburg. The store is situated in the historic heart of the city, on the ground floor of a modern building alongside the Pegnitz river. At 40 sqm. (431 sq.ft.), it’s quite compact, but what it may lack in size is fully compensated by outstanding interior design, an additional trait the Melbourne-based cosmetics company has become known for.
The aesthetic, created by Aesop‘s in-house design team and executed by studio einszu33 from Munich, sees a monochrome backdrop of velvet-clad walls, and screed concrete flooring that’s subtly contrasted by a custom-made sales counter, bench and storage cabinets, all crafted from timber. Taking centre stage is a large demonstration sink with lacquered façades. Shelving units of raw waxed metal situated along the left-hand side of the space, while storage cabinets of brush-painted wood lines the opposite wall. The new Aesop boutique carries the brand’s full range of skin, hair and body products.
