Opening today in Tokyo‘s shopping district of Daikanyama, is the newest retail space of Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake. Called Good Goods Issey Miyake, the store measures 92 sqm. (990 sq.ft.) across two floors of an oblique-shaped concrete building, and features settings created by designer and longtime collaborator Tokujin Yoshioka. Walls are covered in aluminium that has been dyed in light green and further engraved with diagonal slits that not only lend a dynamic visual element to the space, but also conceal bolts that allow to attach hooks, clothing racks and shelving. Furnishings are sparse, and merely comprise of a sales desk and sleek aluminium displays on each floor. The new Good Goods Issey Miyake store carries a selection of men’s and women’s garments and accessories from various Issey Miyake lines, including Issey Miyake, BAO BAO Issey Miyake and me Issey Miyake. In celebration of the opening, the store also stocks a number of special items for a limited period of time.
