Gentle Monster‘s global retail offensive continues, and has now resulted in a brand new flagship store in one of New York City‘s most coveted shopping areas. The Korean eyewear brand has opted for a 5,072 sq.ft. (471 sqm.) unit on the ground floor of a modern building on Wooster Street. Similar to previously opened stores across the planet, the interior design of the newest outpost has a theme, in this case it’s The Visitor, and features an evocative retail setting that reflects a metaphoric future with different shades of faith and hope, and which itself spawns new and unique futures. The setting in Soho, created by the company’s in-house design team, presents such a time frame in which the Earth and Moon drift apart, creating a 13th lunar month and all the visual reverberations that come with it. The retail space invites shoppers to explore the premises, and while in total awe, explore Gentle Monster‘s merchandise along the way. The eyewear is discreetly presented on wall-mounted shelving, as if to allow the artful installations to pop.
