Crest Office Interiors created a design for Eppendorf, a biotech company whose newest offices are located in Sydney, Australia. Eppendorf, a company with its registered office in Germany, develops, produces and sells products and services for laboratories around the world.

Eppendorf took their recent office relocation as an opportunity to focus on what mattered to them as a business, in both a functional & aesthetic way, as well as look at opportunities to adopt an Agile working environment.

Their new space in North Ryde, a hub for biotechnology, includes a humidity & temperature controlled testing lab, a large breakout space connected to the boardroom to accommodate town hall meetings or training days, quiet rooms, hot offices, lockers for all staff and collaboration spaces to encourage agile working.

The move to agile working was driven by Eppendorf and their desire to employ mobility as well as streamline workflow and project requirements. This change was a significant shift for them culturally as they came from quite a traditional workspace. It was something they were quite passionate about adopting in their new space.

This transition from traditional offices to an open style work environment encourages collaboration across all facets of the business which enable Eppendorf to act in a more timely manner on issues as they arise.

Consolidating their laboratory, warehouse and distribution facilities was paramount to the design and of critical importance in improving Eppendorf’s business efficiencies. The clever design and use of technology with emphasis on three access points to the office, allowed a more effective and much improved workflow procedures for goods coming in and out.

The bright pops of colour create a unique, vibrant and inviting space that feels fresh and inspiring and creates a whole new mindset for the staff working there.
