Tokyo has a strong fan base by the non-Japanese diners in Tokyo, and therefore the base-design of the New York location was inspired from the flagship store, which was designed to resemble a shrine. Pivottingfrom there, Toriko New York was also inspired by Noh theaters (traditional classic Japanese dance theater). If you sit at the 16 seat Yakitori-counter, the chefs inside the bar become the actors on the Noh stage, where you find yourself as the audience. The restaurant also has 20 table-seats, which are ideal for group diners, and 10 seats at the cocktail bar Though this cocktail bar is designed specifically for the New Yorkers (there are no bar seats in Japan), the overall concept and the feel is truly Japan.
