Situated in Fujian, China, ‘Vista’ café by Karv One Design generates a dream-like atmosphere for its customers. Playful terrazzo and a metal grid installation are combined with soft, yet eye-catching linear lighting, to carve out and emphasize the fluid forms of the interior.
In order to create a visually strong design with a dramatic effect, Karv One has installed an artistically shaped fixture, made with white metal grid forms, that can be observed throughout the ceiling. The structure emerges as a stand-alone architecture piece, while its flowing and graceful shape, which resembles a fluttering ribbon in the wind, evokes a dreamy feel.
Gradient glass further strengthens the dreamy feeling of the space, and visually expands it. Materials such as terrazzo and metal, combined with linear lighting, complete the fluid interior. With the addition of the thematic art greenery, a surreal white garden is created within the café. Trees, flowers, and plants add a refreshing feel and jointly create a soothing, warm atmosphere.
The strong visual tension of the design is derived from the dramatic confrontation with everyday memories, bringing a brand-new sense of lightness and imagination to the café experience. Different behavioral patterns are observed when people are gathered in this surreal white garden and interact with each other. People flow within the space while the exterior water elements echo with the thematic atmosphere of the project, creating a unique spatial experience. The façade appears as a beautiful scenery and, with its open character, it integrates into the city, becoming a memorable popular destination.
