There’s no doubt Hankyu Umeda is the leading luxury department store in the sprawling metropolitan area of Osaka, and as such, brands operating in the upper segment of fashion and lifestyle vie for attention of well-heeled shoppers. Obviously, Burberry has been present on the premises for many years, and as of late, it boasts a fully revamped shop-in-shop for bags and accessories. Situated on the second floor, it features the latest retail design codes as laid down by Riccardo Tisci, the brand’s current creative director. The new setting sees an updated reinterpretation of the iconic Burberry checks, and includes metal frames, checkered tiles, and a colour palette of beige, black, red, and white, in addition to warm wood and glamorous mirrors. The shelves are laden with a wide range of iconic bags such as the Olympia bags and TB bags, as well as small leather goods such as wallets and phone cases, and accessories such as scarves and caps. In celebration of the renewal, Burberry‘s soft pocket tote and wallet, both part of the new S/S 2021 Collection, will be available here early and are on sale for a limited time only, a true bonus for the most avid of fans.
