Hyundai commissioned BURDIFILEK to design their new flagship department store in Seoul, South Korea. The luxury multi-level store unveils a new concept that addresses the needs of an emerging generation of customers in search for a more experiential shopping environment. The scope included the design of levels 2 to 4 including the ground level Atrium and its’ Waterfall Garden. Each floor was developed around a unique design language to cater to a specific demographic. Home to luxury contemporary fashion and accessories the second level carries elements taken from nature evoking a sense of walking through a sculptural garden while the design vocabulary of the third floor comes from a more brutalist approach with aggressive materiality and bolder sculptural elements.
In this modern retail emporium, the world of art, design and fashion collide to create a cultural experience, where the designers offered something unexpected through different programmes and looks while creating memorable moments for the customers.
