As one of the planet’s global fashion capitals, Milan is where many a leading fashion brand makes a bold retail statement, including CELINE. As of late, the Paris-based fashion house has upped the ante with a prestigious new boutique smack on the intersection of Via Montenapoleone and Via Sant’Andrea. Occupying no less than 600 sqm. (6,458 sq.ft.) across two expansive floors on the premises of a monumental historic building, the CELINE store features the lavish interior design codes as initially laid down by its previous creative director Hedi Slimane. The restrained opulence sees flooring of opulent Grand Antique marble – mind you, an abundance of Calacatta Oyster and Arabescato marble, but also grey travertine cover other surfaces – and herringbone parquet, bold gold metallic accents, pristine white walls, and last but not least, a wide variety of tightly curated selection of furniture pieces.

An eye-catching element is the grand staircase connecting the two levels, crafted from shiny gold metal, and inspired by Modernist and minimalist aesthetics. The shopping experience is further elevated by dotting the store with artworks of leading artists selected for teh CELINE Art Project, including paintings by Susan Rothenberg, Luisa Gardini, Giangiacomo Rossetti and Samuel Hindolo; as well as sculptures by Peter Schlesinger, John Duff, Simone Fattal and Yngve Holen. The new CELINE flagship store offers the full range of merchandise. The ground floor presents leather goods, accessories, fine jewellery collections and also a special nook for the CELINE Haute Parfumerie & Beauté products. One floor up, the women’s and men’s apparel collections can be found, ins addition to textile accessories and the coveted CELINE Maison collections. Here, shoppers can also sit back and be pampered in open resting areas, as well as private salons. © superfuture
