“Kriti Hotel” is located at the Koum Kapi district in the city of Chania at Crete. The hotel, which is a four-story building, was built in 1971 and it has been renovated in order to ascent in category. The rooms are located in the 4 floors above ground level, while the ones located at the ground floor have been designed so as to accommodate guests with disability access. On the same level, the main Lobby, the reception, a bar, a TV corner, a conference room and a business center are also located, while the restaurant, a gym, WCs, changing rooms and other auxiliary rooms can be found at the first basement level that also includes the swimming pool.
Regarding the common spaces, their design was based on geometrical shapes, modern and dynamic lines, combined with the use of natural materials and colors. Some crucial modifications have also been made on the outer shell of the building regarding the facades morphology and their details, while external thermal insulation was applied in order to decrease the building’s energy consumption.
The main goal was to achieve maximum functionality and aesthetically approved spaces that at the same time would comply with the specifications required by the National Organization of Tourism. Therefore, the furniture were designed and adjusted to the needs of each hotel room. The wallpapers with themes and pictures referring to Crete life and traditions, along with the fabric colors and the natural wooden furniture result into revitalizing as well as pleasant environment in every room.
