The boys of Études Studio know a thing or two about design, but they also love to dip their toe in retail. Following a number of pop-ups on either side of the Atlantic they inaugurated their first permanent store in the happening Marais district of Paris with, you guessed right, another sleek pop-up. It’s clearly something they love to engage in as not one but two new pop-up stores are currently wooing shoppers in Seoul. One was set up at one of the flagship stores of Beaker [1] – a popular retailer with a huge appeal among a young demographic – in the Hannam-dong area [open through Apr 16] while the other is situated south of the Han river at luxury department store galleria’s Apgujeong branch [2].
Although each location serves a somewhat different clientele, they both carry the full range of Études Studio’s S/S 2015 Mxism collection, in addition to a number digital infused pieces, and last but not least, the latest capsule collection created with Gothenburg-based artist Mårten Lange. And although the settings are somewhat different, both pop-up stores feature a similar design aesthetic that was first introduced at a temporary showcase at Printemps Hommes in Paris earlier this year.
