Luca Trazzi’s ‘Cromateria’ project at Museo Diocesano combined a series of installations which incorporated light, visual imagery and music to create a multi-sensory experience. The Italian architect installed a wall of modular steel elements which were used to reflect pictures taken from of the museum’s archival collection. The 6 meter high structure used a video mapping technique which projected a series of collages on to the surface.

Individual square and rectangular units were constructed to show the artwork, which created a fragmented display of photos, across the space. The installation which was shown during Milan Design Week 2016, was accompanied by two spiral towers which supported the multimedia projections within the courtyard. Both structures were made up of steel pieces that were layered on top of each other to create a twisted effect.
