For the 2016 Turkeybuild fair in Istanbul, BCN DESIGNSTUDIO designed the stand for Turkish Parquet manufacturer and reseller DENDRO. Taking advantage of the corner position of the stand, the idea of an independent, exposed island with landmark character was developed. Contoured by a large steel frame, the island’s upper part is a sculptural-like installation of stapled steel boxes exhibiting different parquet samples. The wooden textures stand out against the dark surfaces of the back walls and the anthracite steel construction, highlighting the characteristics of the material. The island’s base acts as a multifunctional furniture dedicated to product information and visitor care, including a catering area, different types of seating and storage facilities.
