Acne Studios has been present in Oslo for quite some time, operating two boutiques and an outlet store. The Swedish fashion label has recently revamped its outpost on Øvre Slottgate, a pedestrian thoroughfare lined with monumental buildings, and which has become the very heart of the Norwegian capital’s newly emerged luxury shopping district. First opened eight years ago, the boutique measures 320 sqm. (3,445 sq.ft.) set across two floors, and now features Acne Studios‘ newest retail design codes as revealed earlier at flagship stores in cities such as Los Angeles, Milan and San Francisco. The aesthetic is a modern interpretation of an artist’s studio, captured by a contrast of different materials.
Downstairs the setting is defined by vaulted ceilings, pristine white walls, paneling of shiny stainless steel, and green terrazzo flooring. Furnishings comprise of sleek steel clothing racks and tables, alternated by contrasting, custom-made pieces by London-based designer Max Lamb. The green terrazzo covers a winding staircase, extending across the entire upper floor as well. Here, the backdrop morphs into beige-tinted arches and walls concealed by curtains in a matching hue that evoke a salon-like feel. The renewed Acne Studios store carries the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, shoes, eyewear and denim pieces.
