Just when we thought Cara Delevingne had slammed the door on modelling for good, she’s back in full force, fronting a new campaign for fashion brand Karl Lagerfeld. Well, it’s not just a campaign because the iconic designer’s former muse got to design a capsule collection for the brand too, aiming to raise its profile in the global fashion arena. The release of the aptly called CARA ♥️ KARL capsule collection comes with pop-up stores and satellite displays at Karl Lagerfeld boutiques and pop-up stores at leading department stores across Europe and in New York City and Los Angeles, including Galeries Lafayette in Paris. Designed by Studio XAG, a retail display design agency based in London and Amsterdam, the setting offers a 360-degree experience through physical and digital assets that drive brand heat and engagement.
Millennial and Gen Z shoppers, the brand’s obvious target demographic, are given the option to participate in the campaign narrative, hunting down QR codes in the stores and pop-ups that open a world of augmented reality to interact with and explore. Large digital walls dot the various store floors, surrounded by brushed aluminium, fluted glass, gender-neutral chrome mannequins and neon lighting that creates a futuristic feel wherever you turn. A large red heart is prominently displayed across all stores, contrasting beautifully with the modern, neutral colour palette used to exhibit the collection. The CARA ♥️ KARL capsule collection features size-inclusive, gender-neutral items designed in collaboration with the former British supermodel.
