The global retail expansion of Byredo continues at an accelerated pace, and this time, the cult cosmetics brand has shifted its focus to Bangkok‘s retail scene which continues to bounce back after two turbulent years. Situated at ICONSIAM, a leading luxury shopping centre alongside the city’s Chao Phraya river, the boutique occupies a unit on the so-called M Floor, rubbing shoulders with the boutiques of brands from fashion and lifestyle’s upper echelon. The store’s design codes, laid down in collaboration with Stockholm-based architect and longtime collaborator Christian Halleröd, are captured by a black brick façade which beautifully frames an understated setting with whitewashed walls, flooring of terrazzo tiles, and a ceiling embellished with striking undulating ceiling elements that add a slight yet very noticeable 1970s vibe. Furnishings include Byredo‘s signature aluminium and glass cabinets, both the tall and tiered ones, and the low equivalents. Taking centre stage in the store’s front section is a sizeable steel display table in a green hue. At the far end, shoppers can sit back on faux fur-clad timber chairs, paired with a colourful hand-knotted carpet, a side table, and on one side, a sturdy, floor-to-ceiling wooden shelving unit. The new Byredo store carries the brand’s full range of perfumes, home fragrances, makeup and body care products, in addition to a curated range of Byproduct items.
