Design Blob has envisioned the new EstudioFisio clinic in Madrid (Spain) as a wellness
environment. It is a space where neutral palettes and soft silhouettes align to foster a
sense of calm upon entry.

Transforming a 90s office floor with no street-level presence into a serene physiotherapy clinic was the challenge faced by Design Blob for EstudioFisio in Madrid. The pre-existing space was heavily conditioned by an orange linoleum floor and a black technical structure. However, it boasted a major asset: seven street-facing balconies providing an unusual amount of natural light.

Design Blob used this illumination as the main design thread, reorganizing the layout along the façade to bring natural light directly into both waiting areas and treatment rooms. This approach creates a sense of openness that distances the project from conventional, sterile healthcare aesthetics.

The material palette reinforces this pursuit of calm. Herringbone timber flooring runs throughout for visual continuity, complemented by beige, raw, and light wood tones. Integrated wall mouldings subtly reference the building’s original character, establishing a dialogue with contemporary joinery, technical lighting, and clean-lined furniture. In the treatment rooms, textile curtains filter light and adjust privacy, balancing clinical functionality with comfort.

The result is a luminous, welcoming clinic where design serves the user experience, fostering trust and wellbeing.
