DRAFT’s design for the NTT Resonant Incorporated Offices in Tokyo seamlessly intertwines themes of resonance and playfulness, crafting a three-floor workspace that prioritizes organic interaction and creativity through fluid layouts and mineral-inspired materials, ultimately fostering innovation as the company embarks on a new phase of communicability.

NTT Resonant introduces its new office space, which provides Internet-related services such as the portal site goo. The design themes for the site are “resonance” and “playfulness”. By combining sympathy with the stimulation of creativity, we hope to generate a service that is both surprising and inspiring. Based on the company’s ideas, the concept is “Creating a space that returns to the starting point: 0–>1” in order to usher in a new phase by enhancing communicability even further.

The new office spans three floors, one of which was designed by DRAFT. The designated entrance for visitors, seminar area, meeting room, and coworking space for employees create a floor that stimulates communication. All areas are organically arranged to create a flow that enhances both casual meetings and more formal gatherings. The space is designed to allow people to interact naturally and to have discussions across departments and teams. Materials and shapes that inspire thoughts of minerals are used to spark creativity. The design incorporates images that call to mind the reflections and fluctuations of the surface of water, from the graceful curves of the ceiling and counters to the wavy mirrors used for partitions. One tiny idea can create a swell that turns into spreading ripples. In this way, we have created a space that will lead to the creation of new innovations.
