A design exhibition currently open in Vancouver is exploring the role that prototyping plays in developing a concept. Five Vancouver-based studios have contributed to the show, revealing how they experiment and think during the process of turning an idea into reality. The show features physical prototypes, background information on each piece and artist presentations.
The designers are Niels Bendtsen, Omer Arbel, David Battersby & Heather Howat, Barnaby Killam & Stuart Sproule and Lucas Peet. ‘Although people may be aware of prototyping as a way to try out new ideas they often forget, or aren’t aware of, the industrial aspect of industrial design,’ says Niels Bendtsen, owner of Bensen. The exhibition can be seen until 1 October at Burnkit Studio (397 Alexander St., Vancouver, B.C.) It is hosted by The Burnkit Network. Entrance is free.
