On the corner of Voukourestiou and Panepistimiou, Venetia and Stella Vildiridis have opened their brand new store. In a building which once housed the National Bank of Greece, the Athens based practice of Studio Omerta have created an extremely elegant interior in which the Vildiridis family can continue their century long tradition of supplying high end jewelry, watches and much more.
The generous interior covers two levels, the upper level for the objects and gift items. A simple white palette creates a backdrop for a variety of display options. Vintage round tables, contemporary dark framed wall units and an elegant glass fronted cabinet, all play their role in creating a consumer friendly space in which to browse at one’s leisure.
In spite of the vast dimensions of the lower level, an intimate environment has been created by the curtains as a theatrical touch, which have been used to divide the space. The heavy sumptuous fabric creating a wonderful contrast to the intricate metal screen designed by Studio Omerta. Together with the exquisite crystal chandeliers and the magnificent columns painted the signature dark grey of the design studio, we are reminded of the neo -classic heritage of this historic building.
Intimate groupings of comfortable armchairs sit on a floor of white marble which contrasts with the contemporary dark framed wall display cabinets exhibiting the designer jewelry and watches to their best advantage. This is an interior which lives up to the heritage of the Vildiridis name and another very beautiful project for Studio Omerta.
