In the Arabian town of Sharjah on the Arabian Gulf, Ansorg has implemented an attractive lighting concept for the multi-brand car dealership of Al Tayer Motors. With the consistent use of LED lighting solutions both in ambient lighting and in the placing of highlights on the cars an outstanding energy value of less than six watts per square metre was achieved.
In the 6,350 square metre large automotive temple, prestigious automotive brands such as Jaguar, Land Rover or Ford and Lincoln are presented attractively and in a premium quality manner. The
perfect setting of the scene for such a wide and multi-faceted experience of brands was a core demand made on the lighting concept. Equally the focus was also on energy efficiency and low
maintenance.
These were requirements which Ansorg met in full with a convincing LED concept. The lighting of the cars on show was implemented completely with two lighting solutions. To achieve bright yet glare-free ambient lighting four-lamp Piazza suspended luminaires were used which, with a light output of 12,000 lumens each, cope with the great room height without any problems. As a
result of its subdued design, Piazza fits harmoniously into the ceiling structure.
Exciting accents were placed on the cars by Take, the LED spotlight. The use of spot reflectors generated highlights on the car paintwork at selected points. The deliberately cool light colour temperature of 4000 K chosen at the same time creates marked contrasts with a dramatic dynamism. This develops particularly in the case of dark and coloured paintwork and, in the case of cars with metallic paint, produces remarkable brilliance and depth.
In the numerous inviting lounges and meeting rooms it is primarily the Lightstripe lighting system that is used. Reception desks are provided with decorative suspended luminaires from the Collection series. The LED lighting solutions employed yield, besides the very glossy lighting effect, also marked benefits as regards energy efficiency and maintenance.
A long service life and reliability are characteristics which are of great importance especially in large-areas with high-ceilinged rooms: once installed the luminaires convince by means of efficiency in continuous operation and by optimum performance as regards luminous efficiency and colour rendition. The energy consumption already referred to in any case speaks for itself.
