In-between Design Office designed a simple white space yet sophisticated enough to display and put focus on the italian designer shoes for PREVIEW, Hong Kong based lady shoe store at Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. PREVIEW is a shoe retail provides a variety of fashionable footwear that combine traditional casual sneakers with daring fashion elements. After understanding the design concept of this new italian brand, IBDO emphasis the lightness of their lady sneakers by displaying them on the transparent leaves of bamboo trees.

Located along the Causeway Bay portion of Lockhart Road where it is already one of the biggest battlefield of shoe retail sector, the designer wants the new Preview brand standout among the others from display systems, material use and lighting design. While making use of traditional wood shelving system to fulfill the optimum shoe display requirement, two walls inside the 90 sq.m shop space was covered by unfinished grey etong blocks with transparent leaf-shaped plexiglass plate clamped onto white powder coated metal tubes in front to mimic bamboo trees.

Fixing detail is designed to look like the intervals along the bamboo stem and allows easy fixing at different position. Lighting fixtures above the bamboo tree display are carefully chosen to achieve a sense of natural daylight coming down from a skylight. The idea is to develop strong and poetic concept with inexpensive materials and details for client which can be used throughout all coming soon Preview boutiques in Hong Kong and when they are ready to be lounged in Mainland China.
