A number of integrated graphic elements add character to the design, including an inlaid metal ‘welcome mat’ sign embedded in the stone floor of the front entry which is unique to this Dropbox address. Elsewhere, images of Bondi Beach taken by local photographer Aquabumps, form large murals on walls and on the ping pong table, adding a distinctive Sydney flavour.

The interiors have been created mainly in wood for a light, clean and natural feel and in a nod to the café’s name – madera is the Spanish for wood.
Subtle carving/mouldings done for the table bases make the furniture more ethnic, but the white distressed finish gives them a much desired Indian look with a twist.
Focusing on the Danish concept of “hygge”, which roughly translates to coziness, the design team delivered a project that feels more like a Danish- modern inspired living room than a corporate office.

The solid oak table, which is over 5m long and 1.15m wide, is the distinctive feature of the room, complemented by an impressive bookshelf over 5m high. The latter sets the tone for the dining area with approx. 92 seats in its characteristic openness, creating an exclusive area in which to present the diverse assortment of products.
Partitions and a variety of cozy seating options create individual conversation spaces suitable for different sized-groups – intimate pockets within a larger, cohesive environment.
Designers created a striking, modern, and colorful prototype with distinctive architectural elements. Dynamic angles and intersecting planes convey energy in a multi-colored fascia inspired by the Latin AmericanÕs flavor cues.
