Mulberry store by Universal Design Studio, Edinburgh – UK

July 28th, 2014 by retail design blog

Universal Design Studio continues its collaboration with Mulberry, designing the brand’s new Edinburgh store with a sophisticated, neutral interior. The interior scheme focuses on carefully crafted oak shelving. Iconic round low tables appear in informal clusters throughout the store, contrasting with the linearity of the shelf displays.

Shelves have dovetail junctions and curved undersides with inset lighting, emphasising Mulberry’s dedication to craftsmanship. Natural materials like timber, limestone and brass provide tactility and warmth – the brass motif throughout the store is an homage to one of Mulberry’s signature materials, while the use of oak is a subtle link to the brand’s rural English origins.
