Anderson Lloyd is one of New Zealand’s top tier law firms, and the largest in the South Island with offices in Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown. After the devastating Christchurch earthquake in 2012, Anderson Lloyd’s Christchurch office relocated from their city address to a temporary warehouse, converted into offices, in the suburbs. As part of the rebuild of not just their own office, but of the city, Anderson Lloyd signed up to occupy one of the first new buildings to be completed in the CBD.
Points of Note: Our brief was to create a place for Anderson Lloyd’s staff and clients that showed their connectivity to the community, reflected their southern values, and importantly was enduring, down to earth and creative. Maintaining the best areas for open plan to encourage cross team functionality and communication, the space was designed to feel warm and approachable, using natural, honest materials such macrocarpa timber, blue stone and recycled copper from surrounding demolished buildings.
