When tvsdesign orchestrated a workplace strategy workshop in the initial phases of the Zebra Technologies new headquarters project, the idea of combining the previously separated R&D Laboratories with headquarters functions began to take shape as the goals for the new project were defined. Strengthening its reputation as a technology brand, fostering collaboration and creating scalability for future growth were the guiding principles that emerged from the workshop, leading the team to realize that the greatest benefits could be obtained with the co-location of the two groups. Once this decision was made, tvsdesign went to work on the foundation for the new workplace design.
Each collaboration space and amenity is carefully placed and designed to spark interaction, creativity and the exchange of ideas. Laboratories are showcased by their placement in the center of work areas visible through glass partitions. Writing surfaces and consistent access to technology throughout the facility encourage and display spontaneous idea exchange.
The foresight tvsdesign and Zebra put into its strategic workplace planning and design allowed Zebra to quickly make room for new employees from the recent acquisition. The result is an office that supports business goals by fostering a culture of ingenuity and idea exchange.
