The two sister brands (Kaplan Brothers and Empera) owned by the same employer had a total stand area of 560 m2 with adjacent areas forming one block at the “Domotex” fair in Hannover. The identities of both brands had their own specific characteristics. While one of the brands offer classical products with a focus on domestic market as a founding and long-established brand, the other offer more “fashionable” products with a focus on international markets as a younger brand. What we researched here was a design language that will reveal the perception of two sister companies which individually express their own identities on one hand, and have united and mutually complementing values in the back ground on the other.
The stands were designed with an entrance section, the section where carpets were exhibited and an accompanying cafe. The entrance section, while reflecting the prestige of the brands, isolated the carpet exhibiting section from the chaos of the fair significantly. In addition, the guests were offered the opportunity of relaxing and examining the carpets in more detail and more enjoyably with the existence of a cafe in this isolated area.
