Located in Aix en Provence, South of France, “Côté Cour” by the chef Ronan Kernen, is distinguished by its implantation in backyard of a “Hotel Particulier” with lots of charm. The aim of this project was to restore the clarity and lightness to this place located in a unique setting. ” We wanted to give to this restaurant an identity associated with gourmet cuisine on the plates. It was necessary to add comfort (both visual and material) without becoming a place too stuffy or ostentatious.” said Red Banana Studio, the interior design agency.
“We therefore used materials such as natural oak treated, shades of fabrics ranging from mottled gray to mustard yellow. Moucharabiehs reinterpreted with modern patern come create intimacy and rhythm in space. We also wanted to reinterpret the codes of traditional cuisine in the space that separates the kitchen from the room. For this, we dressed the copper sheet riveted furniture recalling the pan of our great mother and employee of reinforced glass fanlight placed above the bar.”
Steel suspensions that adorn the restaurant, recall the current trends, the successful combination of the old and the contemporary. The real asset of the restaurant, his court, was highlighted by the creation of a new retractable glass roof to make it even more pleasant and bright restaurant in summer and winter, day and night.
