The truth about workplace – After the first project with McCann in Berlin the time has come for the second challenge: to recreate McCann’s office in Düsseldorf – a city of fashion, style and international flair.
In this sophisticated, creativity-minded metropolis the office of the advertising agency found a new home in the city’s center, at the Broadway House, with an area of 2.500m². The challenge was to design a workplace that allows for maximal personal creative-space and encourages community and communication at the same time. While the lines between the different sections of the office were allowed to blur, individual rooms have been created deliberately in order to unleash people’s very personal creative expression.
On one hand the open space concept not only allows but invites employees and guests to shape and inspirit the room that is given. On the other hand the new office of McCANN is a place for self-determined work – empowering everyone to use the space individually. Beyond all openness, communication and exchange it was imperative to grant everyone his own area, so the feeling of belonging does not get lost in the space.
Intending to support not only the individual’s but also the organization’s creative spirit and workflow, spots for quick and spontaneous presentations and get-togethers have been installed. Meeting rooms have been designed with an airy atmosphere in order to spark communication between co-workers.
In the end the renewed office space of McCANN Düsseldorf reflects personality, style and the flair of a creative community.
