It was in 2012 that Saint Laurent opened its first standalone boutique in the U.S. at Bal Harbour shops, and now, only four years later, the iconic French fashion house follows the trail of a string of leading luxury brands, and sets up a second store in Miami. Situated in the Design District, the city’s booming new luxury shopping zone.
The boutique occupies a two-storey modern building with a façade that’s encased in floor-to-ceiling, and featuring an interior design that’s largely defined by the design codes by the brand’s previous designer Hedi Slimane. Although slabs of white and black marble, polished brass elements and plenty of glass still dominate the palette, the retail setting looks slightly tweaked under current creative honcho Anthony Vaccarello.
It has become a tad more welcoming, and this has been achieved by the addition of comfy seating arrangements that allow shoppers to sit back and ponder over additional trophy purchases. The merchandise is showcased in elongated shelving lining the walls and suspended hanging rails. And speaking of which, the new Saint Laurent store carries the brand’s full range of product offerings from all categories, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, eyewear and jewellery pieces.
