Geometric drawings and sophisticated materials: these are the elements that distinguish the new store that the GAA studio designed for the male brand “Le Cid” and was built in Doha within the new Mall of Qatar. The project, commissioned by the Aura Retail group, covers an area of about 1000 square meters and is characterized by the desire to recreate an elegant place that is able to make the customer live in a warm and intimate location such as a cigar lounge.
The space consists of different sales areas defined by geometric shapes that are reflected from the walls through furniture in wooden containers and corten and bronze free standing, while for the floor, a resin with cement effect contrasts marble slabs and parquet. From the lighting point of view, into the entrance, gigantic chandeliers with antique gold finishing are in contrast with the numerous spotlights, that with punctuality, highlight the exposed products, creating light and shadow areas: while in the central area, it was intended to create a connection to the outside by inserting a skylight that recalls the geometry of the context and spreading an apparently natural light.
It should be emphasized that the design of the concept, the study of the constructive details and the engineering of the yard were managed by the Italian grouping, while the production of the furniture was done locally. The Le Cid store represents a new place of great contemporary character, but refined and noble at the same time, where every detail of the furniture was realized exclusively for the brand, responding promptly to the its evolution that is aimed at a needy target.
