Roppongi Hills Club opened in 2003. A decade has passed since the renovation in 2016 and now “The Horizon Room”, “The Star Bar”, and “The Study” has been refreshed to meet the needs of the current generation and to enhance the member’s experience at the Club. “A device for a rich communication” is the concept which connects the three rooms.

The Horizon Room
The richest space is not a space embellished with artworks yet a space that has transformed into art. Total of 28 m long mural art by Masashi Ozawa suggests that the mural art is not only a decoration but a space itself. The guests shall walk through a tranquil corridor to find a heavy timber door of a 200 year old wild Birch cherry tree which invites them to The Horizon Room. The louvers which stand in front of the 14 m long mural art shall offer various expressions depending on the standing point and the handmade tin ceiling will reflect the sunlight offering depth to the ceiling. The changes made to the space depending on the time of day, the scenery from the top of Roppongi Hills, and an environment that allows to share them as an artistic space will become a device to offer rich communication between guests.

The Star Bar – Speakeasy
The unnoticeable small door shall lead the guests to a narrow experimental corridor. This experimental corridor has a mechanism which allows guests to detach themselves from the world whilst showing the beautiful nightscape. The entire room flushed in black will strengthen the panoramic view of the Tokyo night scene adding another surprise. As the eyes acclimatize to the darkness, numerous small red dotted lights shall appear scattered across the ceiling to distinguish itself from a typical bar. The customized furniture are dressed with top notch Scottish upholstery creating a comfortable and sassy environment. This bar is not only a bar to enjoy the night view yet place for guests to spend quality time with their friends and companions.

The Study
The Study is an experimental space for the Master to offer a special hospitality to their guests. From the corridor the entrance of The Study looks like a plain wall concealing itself from becoming a door. From The Study, the entrance is a bookshelf but not just an ordinary residential book shelf yet one that has transformed itself to art. This is not a dining room decorated with art yet a dining space inside an art. This environment is filtered with modern values based on the common understanding of same values from ancient times to offer exceptional hospitality in special spaces. The theme for The Study is a “rich communication with important companion” which is consistent throughout The Horizon Room and The Star Bar.
