Having achieved major success in South Florida’s business community, the Miami office of a national law firm required a new workspace that would create a distinctive presence on a multi-tenant floor—and be ready on an aggressive timeline. Taking advantage of the expansive views of the Southern Biscayune Bay offered by a new 12,000 SF space in Downtown Miami, the designers created a fresh, light-filled workspace with a declarative color palette and sleek, modern furnishings. This fashionable bayside interior creates an amazing experience for clients and staff alike.

The design team right-sized and re-imagined the law firm’s previous workspaces, responding to firm-wide directives calling for a collaborative and flexible work environment. The designers also increased glazing to full height within public areas, maximizing the open light concept and bringing scenic views of the Bay into the core. For visual impact, they intensified the use of texture on the interior’s horizontal and vertical fields and amplified the color scheme while respecting the nature of the firm’s work and client base.

The designers centralized filing in order to support the clean, non-cluttered look of the work areas. This open administrative concept, focused on a “core zone” of support, social, and workspaces, makes staff available to their attorney teams while providing modular building blocks of visual interest as people move through the space. Finally, in addition to streamlining the office and playing off the natural beauty of its surroundings, a key objective for the Miami project was planning for the significant future growth that the law firm expects. Working with a tight deadline, the design team was able to deliver a statement-making interior as well as plan for future expansion.
