When old books with sentimental value meets space with historical value. YES24 F1963 Store is YES24’s 6th brick-and-mortar used bookstore and is constructed on an approximate 1980m2 plot making it the largest flagship store in Korea. F1963 Store is located in Suyeong District, Busan, which was a steelmaking factory for close to 50 years and recently refurbished into a cultural space through renovation to modernize the space while preserving its historical significance.
The special feature of the location by allowing past and present to coexist in the same space is certainly in tune with YES24’s identity. YES24 is not only the leader in distributing books via online bookstore, but also the pioneer in establishing a systematic offline used bookstore. YES24 F1963 Store is designed to live up to those qualities by creating a space that allows pre-loved old books with old school sentiments strive while bringing out YES24’s modern identity.
Furthermore, while retaining the primary function of a bookstore that allows browsing and purchasing of books, F1963 created a ‘Book Cultural Space Platform’ that provides various experience sharing and interaction activities, expanding visitors’ experience from book to culture and art.
