The Dubai Mall‘s new extension is exclusively dedicated to leading luxury brands, and obviously, the house of Dior joins the ranks with a brand new outpost. The eagerness of luxury brands to be present in Dubai is indicative of its significance as a shopping destination on a global scale. For Dior, this is a second outpost in the city, and sees a shared retail space for both its women’s and men’s lines, albeit in separate sections and each with a distinctly different decor. The women’s floor presents ready-to-wear, bags, accessories, shoes and watches in a number of intimate rooms, decorated in a monochrome palette of grey and silver hues.
The sense of luxury is further boosted by a number of artworks and mirror-effect furniture, such as the Galet table by Guillaume Piechaud and Maria Pergay’s Gerbe table. The Dior Homme section shows full understatement and a matching palette of materials and colours that’s embellished by shiny chrome finishings. The Dior store opening is marked by several pieces from its Autum/Winter 2018 collection which have been revisited. Among these, sunglasses in a limited edition of thirty pairs, J’Adior, Dio(r)evolution and Dioraddict bags, a Dior Homme t-shirt with golden bee embroidery, as well as the BMX Serie 2 bike from the collab between Dior Homme and Bogarde.
