As a global fashion capital, Paris boasts a retail scene that’s rivalled by only a handful of other cities with a similar stature. In fact, the city’s appeal is so relevant for leading brands that they continuously seek to strengthen their position. And that’s exactly what Miu Miu has done. For many years, the Milan-based luxury brand has had a strong presence in town with eight shop-in-shops at leading department stores, but as of late, it has tremendously raised its profile by opening a standalone flagship store. Situated on rue faubourg St.-Honoré, one of the most prestigious addresses in the French capital, the Miu Miu store occupies 540 sqm. (5,813 sq.ft.) set across three floors of a 19th century building.
Apart from ornate embellishments, the façade is marked by three large windows that allow in floods of daylight and two separate entrances. Inside, typically Parisian period features have been lovingly restored: delicate stucco details appear on walls and ceiling, and large fireplaces overhung with framed mirrors ensure the space is unique to its location. Interestingly, the iconic golden damask fabric is now created exclusively for the brand in harmonious light blue. Both ceilings and floors are in this same hue, creating the effect of a monochrome box. The new Miu Miu flagship store carries the brand’s full range of women’s apparel, accessories, bags, shoes, eyewear and fragrances.
