Studio Stockholm has developed a Swedish design concept for Uber‘s Stockholm, Sweden office location.
When Uber decided to build their Swedish headquarters in Stockholm they turned to Studio Stockholm to create a design concept that was adapted to Swedish culture while still adhering to the IT company’s global design philosophy and guidelines.
Uber has two divisions, Uber and Uber eats – both with different demands on their physical environment. The office had to include space for educational and service hubs for their drivers, as well as a traditional office environment for app/web service developers, administration and logistics staff.
As drivers, couriers and office workers share the same space we created a hub area that feels like a natural meeting point. This is where you can get help with the app or chat over coffee with colleagues.
The office feels like an “unpolished” start-up thanks to the raw materials and prints used as well as the connection to the region within a traditional office building.
