Following the presentation of his Born in Britain A/W 2019 Men’s Collection last month during Milan Fashion Week, designer Neil Barrett opens a standalone boutique in London. Situated on the ground floor of an eight-storey neoclassical building smack in the middle of Mayfair, the boutique measures a sizeable 200 sqm. (2,153 sq.ft.) divided into three different sections, and was designed in collab with Zaha Hadid Architects. Three cubes inspired by American artist Donald Judd and matching large-sized sculptural displays make up the biggest part of the understated visual drama. Captured by a palette of copper, wood and mirrors, the volumes are paired with marble and cement floors, walls clad in marble and striking furniture pieces. Suspended clothing racks add to the spacious feel of the premises. Lighting also plays a important role, and a sophisticated system of ceiling light light spots strategically highlights specific parts of the collection. The Neil Barrett store carries the brand’s full range of men’s and women apparel, accessories, shoes, bags and small leather goods. The new retail space marks the kick-off of further expansion in Europe in the near future. Location: Neil Barrett, 41 Conduit Street (Mayfair).
